Important: Temporary Closure of Yorktown YMCA for Major Renovations

We’re thrilled to announce that the Yorktown YMCA is undergoing major renovations that will significantly enhance your experience at our facility. As part of these upgrades, we will be closing the Yorktown Y from November 4th to November 25th, including for 24/7 Access members.

Why is this necessary?

This renovation is more than just a cosmetic upgrade—it’s a critical investment in the longevity, safety, and functionality of the Yorktown Y. We’re committed to providing a facility that not only meets but exceeds your expectations for a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space to work on your health and well-being.

Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:
  • Removal of the existing flooring: The current floors in both the main area and group exercise studio have served their purpose, and they’ll be completely removed to make way for new, safer, and more durable flooring.
  • Removal and temporary relocation of equipment: To ensure the flooring is installed properly, we’ll be removing and temporarily relocating all fitness equipment. This allows for a more thorough renovation and ensures the installation is done to the highest standards.
  • Concrete repair: During the renovation, we’ll also be addressing underlying issues, including concrete repairs where needed. This step is crucial to ensure the longevity of the new flooring and the overall integrity of the facility.
  • Installation of new, state-of-the-art flooring: Once the repairs are complete, we’ll install brand-new flooring designed to support all types of workouts, from group fitness classes to individual training sessions. The new floors will not only look fantastic but will also enhance your comfort and safety.
  • Reinstallation of equipment: After the flooring is installed, we’ll carefully reinstall all fitness equipment, making sure it’s positioned to optimize your workout experience.
  • Fresh coat of paint and updated signage: In addition to the flooring updates, the entire facility will get a fresh, vibrant look with new paint and updated signage to ensure the space feels welcoming and modern.
Why is this important for you?

These improvements aren’t just about aesthetics—they’re about creating a safer, more functional environment where you can focus on your goals. The new flooring will provide better support and durability, the fresh look will invigorate the space, and the updated signage will make your experience smoother and more enjoyable.
