Annual Meeting Will "Put A Little Love In Your Heart"

Jackie DeShannon's popular song "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" will be at the center of the Muncie YMCA's Annual Meeting this week. Donors, staff and volunteers will gather at the Horizon Convention Center to celebrate the many accomplishments of the Muncie YMCA in 2009. Among those that will be discussed include the construction of the new Yorktown facility, impressive childcare quality standards that were surpassed by the Apple Tree Child Development Center, and the success of the Invest in Youth annual support campaign (more than $200,000 raised).
The program will begin on Thursday afternoon at 12 p.m. in Interurban Hall at the Horizon Convention Center.
This year's Annual Report also incorporates "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" into its message and includes testimonials from several of those whose lives have been deeply touched by the Muncie YMCA. Take Krista Powers for instance, who has lost more than 100 pounds since joining the YMCA and now hopes to reach out to and help young kids with weight problems get healthy again. Six other YMCA members and staff share their stories as well in the Annual Report.
