Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center
At Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center we demonstrate the YMCA best practices and character development in high-quality childcare by providing developmentally appropriate programs for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. We adhere to guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Indiana state licensing requirements.

Nature Preschool is an enrichment program designed to provide a natural, outdoor experience for preschool children. Children are immersed in the elements of nature which becomes the classroom. At Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center, Nature Preschool takes place off-site at different deep woods locations.

Discover what your child is interested in while engaging in play in this ongoing program! We will introduce different sports and fitness activities for you to get your child acclimated to. The gym will be set up with different activities such as soccer, tumbling, and basketball each week.

The YMCA of Muncie Out of School Time program is specifically designed for children in grades K through 5th. Students are engaged in a variety of fun activities that build on what they are learning in school, with a focus on literacy.

The YMCA of Muncie proudly announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the much-anticipated early learning forest, now officially named Wonder Woods. The event, marked by the planting of over 200 saplings, symbolizes a monumental step toward enriching the educational experience of young learners in our community.
